Witches game coming in September

Postby Jason » Fri Jan 25, 2013 10:47 pm

Martin Wallace the man behind Discworld: Ankh-Morpork has been working on a new Discworld game this time based on The Lancre Wicthes. I've had the opportunity to play it a few times at various stages of production and think it really captures the spirit of the witches.

The frying pan's a nice touch, if not a dead give away as to who you're looking at. I look forward to playing.

It's pretty.

Not much more information. The website doesn't even say whether it's a computer game or an honest-to-goodness board game that a family could actually play together. Nor does it give a price, nor does it say how to order it, just that they don't do direct orders so obviously it must be ordered some other way. Nor do they even give a hint as to how it's played.
Frankly, aside from the html and all that, a twelve year old could write a more informative website. Yes, I'm grouchy today.

It's an honest-to-god board game (like Ankh-Morpork). The rest of the info isn't there because they probably haven't worked it out yet (price, shipping etc). I suspect after release you'll be able to get it from your local game store (on special order?) or from The Discworld Emporium.

Martin Wallace will be at Nullus Anixetas IV next month, and I'll try to remember to ask him some more info about the game... whilst playing the prototype, of course! :D

Its a pretty good game, played a few times and found it enjoyable. Like the Tiffany books, I think its aimed at younger readers as its simple enough to play.

I guess I'll hear from them at some point as I bought all three versions of Ankh Morpork so they have my details and will be wanting to sell me something else. :)
