   Although it could have happened to anyone, Del, you always manage to make me laugh with the way you tell it. You really must write a book about your life; I would definitely buy a copy!

I took my mum to the Wetlands Trust today, so I couldn't take as many pics as I would normally have done. However, here are the ones I did manage to get. :D

This one?

They're cool - we have a pair of them here and we often see them at the feeder. They can walk head first down trees (makes them easy to recognize for birdwatching beginners :D ).

It's really beautiful. :D Lucky you to have them at your feeder!

Unfortunately its not my feeder, it's set up at the wetlands trust in the woodlands area. I used to have a bird feeder and table in the garden until the next door nightmares brought in a bird murdering moggy. Now putting food out for the birds here is tantamount to baiting the trap. :(

(Actually, I do love cats and certainly can't blame the cats for just doing what comes naturally to them. :) )

Love the photo's and the nuthatch is that the little bird that hops about with a painful grimace due to the size of it's nuts.

I was up early this morning took these two through the window.

Image

This I think I zoomed in too much and it shows the buildings to be a bit grainy, but that is a bit of mist above the trees taken 10 minutes later.

Very nice Dug. Zooming in shouldn't affect the graininess, unless you are cropping or increasing the exposure levels in post processing. It might be your camera is using a high ISO setting if you are shooting in auto mode. If you set the max ISO to the 400 mark, you should be able to eliminate much of the noise, or shoot on a slow shutter speed with the camera braced. :D

We're expecting some snow down here tomorrow so I might try and get a shot or two before it gets walked over (assuming it settles, that is, and I can pull myself out of my nice warm bed).

Penners it a bridge camera not a DSLR if I have the name right ,there is only zoom and a couple of other bits you can do I cropped the 2nd one and it was shot in auto mode maybe it was just the light with the mist that made it look that way. :confusion-shrug:

Thanks for the info anyway.

Dug, they're lovely.

There was a morning here in Sydenham, about a couple of weeks ago. Amazing red sky, with silver/grey clouds breaking it up. Was amazing.

I'm just sad that I didn't have a camera (no, I don't have one on my phone).

I actually saw a young lad, with the headphones plugged into his ears, and there he was on the High Street, putting his phone up to take a pic.

Hope for the younger generation yet!! :D
