The Year In Pictures 2013

Hello all, hope everyone's been on their bestest behaviour the last couple of weeks. Holidays were good, very good. Here's some pics I'd like to share. I'll keep it short.


A couple of shots from our balcony at Mooloolaba.


On the beach. I got dumped so bad by a wave, I had sand in places I didn't even know about.



We spent a day up in the hinterland at places called Maleny & Montville, beautiful they were. We went for a short (ha!) hike to a rock pool & waterfall. We got as far as the rock pool before the kids bailed.

So I took a photo of the photo of the waterfall and shall pretend we walked all the way. Plus, a chicken crossing the road, though I asked a dozen times she wouldn't tell me why, dammit!

Lastly, latest pic of my kids Connor, Nat & Perry. Connor's unsuccessful attempt at talking us into buying him a surfboard, I mean really!

Good phots SJ, maybe the chicken could'nt tell you because it beak was glued shut by the chewing gum that should have been stuck to it's foot.

Some more pics . So, we came across a house that had these plastic animals, life-size mind you, in the front yard. I'm sure they were used for something but there wasn't any advertisements indicating what. It was kind of surreal. We imagined they might come to life at night and do good deeds around the neighbourhood.

Looks like you really had a good time Sister J! My favorite is the picture of the three of you on the bottom. And how weird is that yard full of animals! I'm glad you took pictures of it.

Imagining all those uplanders trying to say MOOLOOLABA

I love the chicken pic. Priceless. That would be me.

Me: "OMG! Its a chicken CROSSING THE ROAD! I have to take a pic!"
Kids: "Mums... its a chicken.... why?"
Me: "Because its... CROSSING THE ROAD!!!!! Geddit?"
Kids: "Lame mum! Lame! Can we go now? You are holding up traffic! This is SO embarrassing!"

That beach you took a pic of? My hubby was on a national tour many years ago and one of his mates... knowing I would be stuck at home BORED out of my head offered to take me up to Mooloolaba for the day... brilliant idea. Til I lost his carkeys out of my bag ON THAT BEACH... and a massive thunderstorm hit.... there he was... on his hands and knees in the storm.. sodden! searching through the sand for the keys... while I watched on VERY guilty ... I was 8 months pregnant and trying to get down to help was not an option... he kept his sense of humour about the whole thing for ohhhhh ... at least two hours... when it stopped with the lightning a wonderful man appeared with a metal detector and several other beachgoers helped us search until we found them.

Ah... memories.
