I can't resist sharing some photos from our week in Vanuatu. We had a brilliant time...hard not to in paradise!

Oh my good grief, this looks beautiful! I've always wanted to go to the South Pacific but have no clue how to even get there. How did you travel? And where did you stay? What was the accommodation like? Was this in January? So many questions!

Hi Nienna! I'll try to answer all your questions We travelled by air. Vanuatu is not that far from Australia (about two and a half hours from Brisbane, but we also had to connect from Melbourne) so it wasn't a long trip really. We arrived late December and stayed for the first few days of January. We were probably quite lucky that the weather was good as it is cyclone season at this time of year. We stayed on the tiny island of Moso (off Efate) at Tranquillity Island Dive Resort. The accommodation is pretty basic - but considering that they rely on a generator and solar power it was good. There are some flash resorts in Vanuatu, but not many. It's a great place if you love unspoilt nature and friendly people but can live without some of life's luxuries!

I have to be honest, beaches are not normally my type of holiday (I found some Caribbean islands quite boring, for instance). However, in this case I could be extremely tempted.
