The Third Person Thread - Part the first

Docandie has just begun listing some of her glass art books and magazines on ebid. She has stacks of Glass Studio from the late '70s and through most of the '80s.
One book is The Art Glass Windows of Bonny Doon that Docandie bought at one of the glass art conferences she attended - that one right in Berkeley.
Docandie never did any leading or copper mounted windows herself but she did a lot of engraving on beveled glass for mounting by stained glass artists in various installations.
Docandie doesn't have any colored glass but has lots of beveled glass in various shapes and sizes suitably sized for engraving pictures of animals, birds, etc.

Docandie reports that Aston has a new blankie, a gift from a friend, in suitable holiday color and design.
He is very pleased with it and snuggles with it when he is ready for a nap.

Bonnie waves "hello" from behind many boxes still stacked in her new apartment. At least most of the kitchen and bedroom have been sorted. She likes Aston's new blankie. She could have curled up with it Saturday afternoon after unpacking many of the boxes. She has vowed that she will just sell everything except their clothes the next time they have to move. And maybe some of those too. Fortunately MrE got the interwebs working and the service at the new apartment is much faster than the old one. She suspects the cable at the old place might have been problematic.

Bonnie is getting sleepy and thinks she will toddle off to read a bit before bedtime. She has three more days of work before Christmas. Toodles!!!

[Will of Lancre]

Will pops his head out from a pile of paper in his office. Actually most of the paper is electronic, but it still piles up.

Will sympathises with Bonnie. It is many years since Will and family moved house, but they have had major clear-outs lately (particularly since the kids left home) and the amount of stuff that accumulates is phenomenal.

On the bright side, Will has just 2 days left before his Xmas break and is looking forward to being surrounded by said fled nestlings and their OHs.

Will is also trying to forget that he is down to be Work Alligator on the first two days back in January. Actually, Will may have misread that, and it may actually have been "Allocator", but Will sacrifices some sausages to Offler just in case.

Tony thinks Aston's new blankie is spiffing!

Bonnie tells Will that she and MrE found that the gap left after Munchie moved out was filled rather quickly with other stuff. She then scurries out the door and back to work leaving some mustard to go with the sausages and a "see you later, alligator."

Jules has heard some interesting words for children and occasionally uses some of them, but she would never have expected Bonnie to call her wonderful daughter 'stuff'!!

Jules is tired but happy - only three more days until the Christmas hols, by this time tomorrow something that has been buggering her muchly will be over and she met friendN and baby-boy in a terribly terribly nice cafe for lunch today (Jules has decided that it is now one of her must sees for visiting friends and regrets that she couldn't take the aunties there when they were in Julestown. She's quite sure Aunty would have loved it, too.) and a great time was had by all. In the afternoon Jules made a cushion cover for her sister - and did some work.
She also made fun of bf, who came home from his office Christmas party (fancy hotel restaurant) at around 2 in the morning and still didn't sound completely sober when she called him at 2 in the afternoon.

Edit to say that the cover was NOT for her sister, but for her sister's new cushion.

Erm, guess Bonnie could have phrased that a bit differently after running that sentence through her head first. It was the gap left by the stuff that Munchie collected over the years that was refilled. Of course Bonnie also found out this weekend that this summer Munchie will also be called Mommy and Bonnie will of course be called Oma.

Aston is ready for Hogswatch. The little guy next to him is standing in for the HOGFATHER.

He is such a good boy, very patient while mama takes his picture.

Did Aunty mention that where she is staying is part of a turtle sanctuary and that kids get to help care for the turtles?

Bf is back to normal - he says that after the party it was unusually quiet in the office all day. That's the good thing when you celebrate with your colleagues, Jules guesses.
Jules has googled Vanuatu and now wants to come along with the Aunties! She's a bit jealous, because all the cool places are so far away from Julestown... Jules is sure that Vaguette will have the time of her life looking after toodles!!

Today she finished making her last Christmas present. Yay! And not a day too early...
Tomorrow the Juleses are going to visit sister-o-J and then all three of them together are going to have dinner at Jules's parents.

Toothy tiptoes in. She has been very busy at work in the run up to Christmas and hasn't had an office party opportunity. Toothy has also been involved in lors of concerts and rehearsals (still), including prompting a panto for another local theatre group. Her New Year's resolution will definitely involve the word 'No'!

Toothy loves Aston's new blanket and thinks he looks dapper in his festive antlers. She'd love to have seen bf of Jules tiddly after the office party. She can imagine that he would have been very amusing to observe.

Toothy wishes Bonnie a happy first Christmas in her new home.

Presents are all wrapped and Mrs Santa is ready to do the biz other wee small hours. Mince pie making will be happening shortly...

Jules also liked Aston's antlers. She made a mental note to get some for sister's doggies next year!

The Juleses survived the first day of Christmas madness (as you may or may not now Germans start celebrating a day early). Today Jules is the slightly tipsy one because her mom made fruit punch and someone had to drink it...

Tomorrow they'll be at sister-of-bf's. More food. Fewer pets. More children. Yay!

Aunty has been putting her feet up for the last couple of hours. She has decided her favourite part of Christmas is when all the running around, cooking, cleaning and catching up has ended and she can reflect and bask in some peace...and start recovering from all the over-indulging.
She meant to say she is not so sure about dressing up animals. But that may well come from being a keeper of cats who would put Aunty on a serious re-education program if she was ever to try such a stunt.
