The Hobbit is finally greenlit!

Jan the Imax version was in 3D as I had to wear the glasses, which you don't with the normal Imax I believe, but I never seen a non 3D Imax film to compare.

I've only ever seen 2D IMAX films (mostly in Vegas ) I don't think they did 3D for that back in the late '90's

I just got back from watching it and I can honestly say I was impressed. There was also a lot more humour and laugh out moments than I expected (some of which I'm sure a lot of purists will not approve of).

I was at the premiere at 12.12.12 0:00... saw lots and lots of people dressed as hobbits, one as Gandalf, it was huge fun..!
Only I wasn't there to see the movie, I was studying on a bench in the mall Can't wait to see the movie, though! Sjoerd and I are going... we are, right?!

Yea we had a choice 2D or 3D but i chose 2D, might change my mind for the next one though

When my kids were, well, kids for 3 years LOTR was out 2 days after Christmas keeping sane day out.

Thats what we're doing this year, difference is they can pay for their own popcorn now
