Emma has fallen in love with a dachshound/spaniel mix called Balin we always meet when we go to the bakers'.He is very beautiful and I'll send you a pic if I can manage to make one.
Since then I am being badgered too.:-
I have seen snow on a beach only once in my life when we were at the baltic sea for the air over christmas and new year a few years ago.It looks distractingly and bizarrly beautiful, and somewhat otherworldly. The surf turns a sort of soft grey, like the back side of mother of pearl.
The sand turns completly white and glittery. The snowflakes are big and heavy and fall slowly because of the dampness on the air. The wind coming in from the sea makes them billow and float like Tiffany's cloak.
The air smells not only of salt and sea but also crisply of snow and the wind feels like a thousand tiny needles in your face and seems to have more oxygen than usual, making you feel slightly dizzy. When you walk over it,you first have the soft crisp feel of snow, then as you sink through it,you feel the sand under your feet crunch because it's frozen in impossibile shapes from the wind and the footsteps from the people who walked on it just before it froze.
I hope I could describe it so you can really imagine it properly.
It´s still magic even if you know how it´s done.
