Evening all. Had an interesting morning as I was interviewed on the breakfast show for the local radio station about gender neutral toys. Should boys have dolls or girls have toy cars or guns. They wanted to talk about pink and blue and if that is still a significant factor in colour choices for early toys. We did that inteview then they spotted that I sell gollies so a whole new debate got started quite interesting and it will be fun to see what if any feedback we get.

I think they said on QI that Pink used to be considered a very masculine colour. I don't know how true that is. Nice one, Mad!

Red for the King... so a lighter shade of red (pink) was considered regal for a prince.

A huge amount of our customs come down from royalty... so when Victoria I think it was put blue on boys so did everyone.... don't quote me... just remembering... and I am often wrong... but hey... QI is often wrong too so I don't stress too much.

Well, that's all famous couples really. I can't imagine Posh & Becks have ever bought a pram. But the Royals tend to donate a lot of stuff they get given (I wouldn't think other celebs do, could be wrong). Their wedding list had charitable donations on it.

I'm not a fan of posh and becks but i do recall that when she was especting one of the badly named boys she was given about ten prams or buggies from various companies, she went out and bought the one she actually wanted and then gave the rest to charity so she has her good moments. Hoping Kate and Will do the same .
