How do you pronounce Gryle? Gryle as in 'grill' or as in 'smile?'

I'd go with rhymes with "Smile"

I've always though it rhymes with smile as well.

Yes we're putting on a production at Studio Theatre in Salisbury next February. I'll post more details later.
