Unfortunately, can't find the picture on Wikipedia, but they do have the pictures of gonorrhea and the common cold. 'Cos nothing says it's Christmas like getting a cold and a venereal disease.

I'm not sure I should put this in the 'Humbug Thread' or here since I don't particularly celebrate Christmas. However, for the first time ever, in around thirty years of working in casinos, I have both Christmas Eve and Boxing Day off (Casinos close all day Christmas Day by law in this country). Normally, we only get one day off out of Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day and my finishing times, combined with a lack of public transport usually means I have to use taxis to get home (and in the case of Boxing Day, to actually go to work). The result of paying the inflated taxi rates usually ends up with me paying more for working the festive season than I receive in salary for those days. Fortunately, we have a new manager doing the rotas and he tries to put a bit of thought and consideration into allocating peoples shifts. Most people this year have either the whole of Christmas or the New year off.

We don't have any decorations up yet. We would have normally gotten the tree this past weekend, but just got back in town from the trip. Next weekend, tree and decorations will be a priority. We got back in Saturday night and had just missed the light parade.
