In I'm a celeb get me out of here, they have found non poisonous creatures to use in the trials. All Australian too.
Can't help feeling sorry for those creatures though. Crocs mouthed taped up, creatures squashed by the competitors.
Is there the equivalent of the RSPCA there?

Of course they do. If the producers have any sense, they'd have to run it by the RSPCA.

Yeah we have the RSPCA. They have some pretty powerful laws too. Always astounded me that someone can get jail time for kicking a dog but get off with less for kicking a child. I have only seen excerpts of that show. Doesn't show here. They mistreat animals? Though taping a crocs mouth shut is standard practise. Keeping thier mouth open would hurt them. Still...

Many years ago I met a really lovely guy when I was out. He was from the UK. We hit it off. He said he was out here to do some pilot for some silly show. So I told him I didn't really want to get involved with someone who might only be in the country for a few months....... yeah... THAT show. Even he couldn't imagine that anyone would watch it.

Strange. Rats are pests . The young boy next door had a visit from the police and RSPCA for killing a cane toad. They are pests and some council's pay bounty for them. I think it's HOW you kill them that matters. Pick them up gently and pop them in the freezer ... not see how far you can drive them with a nine iron .

My husband threw a cane toad into the shower with me one time. I can laugh about it now... just.

We've babysat a minature horse. The kid's were falling over themselves doing stuff for it. Bloody gorgeous things. If I could have anything I'd love to own a donkey or two.

Yes, that's the Giant Morenstein Rabbit (Oryctolagus Epiccuisinechronus). Carnivorous, and very vicious.
