Weather - or not!

Was listening to Simon Bates on the radio this morning.

A mate of his rang him to say he'd just been on a train up to London from the West Country, and the guard announced over the tannoy:

"Welcome to this First Great Western service to London Paddington. Life Jackets should be worn at all times, and inflated when leaving the train".

Sharlene and I were flying from Tucson, Arizona to Albuquerque, New Mexico once and they gave the whole spiel about life jackets and how the slides could double as rafts if we crashed into water. All this despite the fact that you are pretty much flying over desert or mountains all the way and there are no large bodies of water. The stewardess at least had the decency to look embarrassed by the whole thing.

It's freakishly warm here, almost 60F today. Not what we usually experience this time of year.

Well that was a bloomin windy n wet night. Waiting for it to get light to I can check the fences and roof. Really hope there's no damage, but there was a lot of loud noises last night

It was a Wet and Windy night here in Cleethorpes although not as Wet and Windy as some have had it, Lets all hope there isn't too much damage and it gets alittle milder soon.

just watched a vid of a massive waterspout in northern oz, amazing when your this far away bloody scary if your close i imagine

Yeah.... scarey! NOT.... I came across this vid two KIDS took of the water spout off Batemans Bay (same storm system that hit us).... I am wondering.... did their parents see this??????

We have the floods and bad weather you guys in the UK are getting on the news here.

Hope everyone and their families are okay. And yeah I realise that you dont have to have your home flooded to be affected. We get rain and bad storms here... but at least it isnt in the middle of winter and bitter cold.

Is times like these that I am so glad that I live near the top of a hill.

I hear Devon is hard hit Bouncy. Your mum is in Devon isnt she? But if I remember she is at the top of a hill too.

The Mother is in Dorset (about 20 miles away from the Devon border!)

I Live in Devon Del, on a hill thank god, but was diverted because of floods last week on way to and from work, it seems we now have a monsoon season!
If you can see this the railway is beside my road to work.
