Hey all,

I apologise if this is something which is covered elsewhere, but I was wondering what goes on at a discworld convention and when the next one is? Also, are there any in Ireland (think I've asked that before, but can't remember)?

There is a conference in Stab City (Limerick) next year Ponder. I missed the last sadly but a few here were at it and the UK one this year.

As to what goes on... a whole lot of fun for Discworld fans of all ages. There are usually lectures, discussions, panels, games, plays, music performances, story telling, interviews, parties, dinners, costume parades & contests, and much more. Throw in the social time outside of scheduled events and the hundreds of new friends you'll make, I heartily recommend going to at least one in your lifetime

Being pretty new to this forum and Sir Terrys books in general,I kind of missed the 2012 season, but I can't wait for 2013 in the hope that i can attend some conventions in the UK

I went to my first one earlier this year and had a great time. I'm hoping to go to Ireland next year as well as doing a bit of travelling around both before and after to make a bit of a holiday out of it (I've never been to Ireland before but it's always been one of those places I wanted to visit).

The main UK convention is every other year so there isn't one in 2013. However you could always try for one of Bernards weekends down in Wincanton
