Beautiful pictures, you have a real knack for that. Love the robin.

   Well ITS SCOTLAND! You wouldn't know proper heat if someone shoved a red hot poker up.... on your arm!

Chilli: HOW excited is your little girl ! :D I can almost feel her excitement! Hope she had a wonderful time.

Gosh I love this thread ! Great pics everyone. Your UFO pics are great Dug. And yes Penners I too like the last pic in the swans. Mad: Gorgeous windows. One of the little teddies looks like he is peering down the street for a new owner.

Okay... I am not too much a fan of Crocodile Dundee... but you see... my parents could both tell the time by the sun. So can most of my family me included.... but then... I suppose.... we get to SEE a bit more sun inthis part of the world than you uplanders.

Chili, your little girl's excitement is so obvious - hope the event lived up to her expectations!

I love the robin pic - it's very Christmassy :)

I went out today with a couple of guys from the camera club. I will be posting a few photos later when I've got around to sorting them but in the meantime here's one of the moon that I took when I got home. :D

Incidentally, we discovered the old ruins of a church, hidden away in the middle of nowhere and surrounded by trees. Unfortunately, it was raining heavily so the photo opportunities were severely limited but we will be returning when the weather improves.

I love that - especially the dark side of the Moon . . . ;)

Full Moon pictures are really good, but for me you can see so much more when the Moon is gibbous like in that picture. Even with binoculars you can see a lot at less than full. :geek:

Nice shot Penners, this may sound silly but that looks like it was a B&W shot or is it because it was taken through a tele lens, just happened to look up coming back from a walk earlier on and it was a nice bright yellowish moon.

I'm guessing there was some pollution or atmospheric conditions where you are since the moon looked like it's normal colour where I am. It was taken with a telephoto lens (300mm) and a 2x converter. I was trying a method for HDR photography* but that experiment didn't quite work out as intended and this was one of the straight shots. :D

*HDR (High Dynamic Range imaging) is taking two or more photos at different exposure levels and then merging them to improve the tones and contrast in one single photo.

Let me change that to a pale ish one, it was a clear sky no clouds at the time, and I had not just come out from the pub.
