Also, I'm so happy for Truly. How wonderful to find something so special again.

What cheered me up was having my family around me on Sunday. As it was my birthday Mr Selkie and our children had all shuffled their timetables to make sure they had the day off (weekends? what are they?) and both my siblings were with us too. It's so rare we all get time to spend together - the best present

Just booked our pre-christmas trip to Berlin in December Now, who can teach me German in the next four weeks?

Now in theory I should be able to. My dad was a German language teacher, our family has a number of German friends and we visited Germany most summers as kids (in our caravan). But alas, my Dad's ability with foreign languages did not rub off on me . I can get by to ask for beer, sausage n chips and then possibly a bed for the night. But after that I'm useless

And thanks for the offer too, if I think of anything I absolutely have to know I'll pm you, but generally I find that German people are so nice I can limp along with my poor vocabulary and they will do their best to understand me We go to Germany quite a lot though, so it's time I think to make more of an effort
