That footage is incredible.

Not as dramatic but here's some stills from storm chaser Jeff Higgins & Co. of the storms in the South East of Queensland on the weekend.

The sort of photos that I aspire to take. :D

(On a side note, I would love to join a storm chasing team in America and photograph tornadoes.)

My god Del! You're due a little swearing if you get stuck in something like that. It was unbelievable to see how fast it swept in, and those swimming pools looked like they were boiling!

Sister J, incredible pictures! Thanks for posting them.

Penfold, I have no doubt you'd get beautiful shots if you joined a storm chasing team, but I have no idea how anyone would stay calm enough to get photos during something like that.

Penners, you stay where you are.

Storm chasing is dangerous, and we don't want to lose you.

Unfortunately, I can't afford to get there and do it. I could try the cheap option and take a b&b break in Selsey (just down the coast from me).

You could ask Patrick Moore if he has a spare room you could use!

Was listening to Simon Bates on the radio this morning.

A mate of his rang him to say he'd just been on a train up to London from the West Country, and the guard announced over the tannoy:

"Welcome to this First Great Western service to London Paddington. Life Jackets should be worn at all times, and inflated when leaving the train".
