You're due a little swearing if you get stuck in something like that. It was unbelievable to see how fast it swept in, and those swimming pools looked like they were boiling!

Penfold, I have no doubt you'd get beautiful shots if you joined a storm chasing team, but I have no idea how anyone would stay calm enough to get photos during something like that.

Unfortunately, I can't afford to get there and do it. I could try the cheap option and take a b&b break in Selsey (just down the coast from me).

Was listening to Simon Bates on the radio this morning.
A mate of his rang him to say he'd just been on a train up to London from the West Country, and the guard announced over the tannoy:
