Illustrator Wanted

Postby poohcarrot » Tue Sep 22, 2009 5:14 am

I sent the Gloob of Thannook (see childrens books section) to Colin Smythe and he replied;

"I'll sound out a children's editor. If you had an illustrator working with you as a package, that might help" - Colin Smythe

Anyone fancy doing some illustrations?

No money I'm afraid, because if it's published, all the profits would go to Alzheimers.

Anyone interested, read chapter 1 for a description, and then post a picture of the Gloob, which I'll forward all the pictures to Colin Smythe.

Indeed - we need a clapping smiley *looks at Batty* :D

I posted this belatedly ('cos my brain is cheese atm) in the original Gloob thread which kind of ties in although it would take more organising so maybe it's a non-starter, but who knows...

Jan Van Quirm wrote::idea:

A thought inspired by pooh's genius and generosity...

We have other writers and artists on here who do fantasy poetry or prose (like the Gloob not necessarily Discworld, but for example Cheery, Beth, Keith and mspanners and Bogieman too, spring instantly to mind as directly inspired by Terry) so would it be possible perhaps to collaborate and do an illustrated loosely fantasy-oriented anthology as a fund-raiser? Perhaps include the CA bods as well (although we have some on here anyway, but spread the net as it were :wink: ) as both sites are Random House supported?

Afterthought edit: I still have a full set of licensed print design software so can donate typesetting skills and keep initial compilation and layout costs down and if Cheery wants to chip in with that (would be a very interesting semi-pro project to be involved for formal pro qualifications :wink: ) then fantastic as time is something I'm not so 'rich' in these days :wink:

Pooh - in relation to the last bit I can't do much in the way of illustration these days but let me know if you need any help with pre-publishing tarting up for the Gloob :wink:

I wouldn't mind trying my hand at this. Hopefully I can get something sketched out tonight.

Here's a real quick sketch I did tonight. It's hard to see from the picture, but the kilt is pink.

It's very good apart from two things.

a. Glasses?

b. He doesn't look like a very cheerful chappie, more psychopathic. :lol:

How's this?
