Just back from a long weekend in Manchester (well just outside actually - near Glossop). Visiting my sister. She travels to see us fairly regularly, but with one thing and another it more difficult for us to travel to visit her. Anyhow - we eventually managed to get there and had a great weekend

A bit of walking in the Peaks



The kids went to see the ponies my sister helps look after


And had a ride





Went to Pooles Cavern





Had car races


Including night races



Found time to chill with a book and a beer



and go to manchesters museum of science and industry

Why do I give people the impression of being obsessed by VWs??

We actually drove to Manchester in Karen's car rather than the camper. A 5 hour drive in her car would be more like a 7 hour drive in Jose.....and would probably cost more in fuel as well. As we only had 4 days including travelling time, we wanted to have as much time actually with my sister as possible - rather than chugging along in the camper.

Mind you, I would have prefered driving Jose - no stress about changing lanes on the motorway.....because that's sooooooo unlikely! When you have a car that can go over 55 mph easily, you tend to end up going faster and being in the middle or outside lane. Too stressful for me - take away the ability to go fast and you just chill in the inside lane
