Well, under Bush I guess we did get to take part in a war that nobody wanted except Bush, because nobody actually knew what it was for. But for the most part, Bush just wanted to play golf and feel very pleased with himself. Romney might actually have set about ruining the lives of millions of women/poor people/minorities/foreigners. I'm glad we won't have to find out.
What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

Of all the many noxious things about Romney, being a Mormon never registered as an important issue with anyone on either side of the aisle and there was nothing he would have done as president that would have been any different than any other conservative who had been elected. Indeed, he probably would have been a lot more moderate than some of the other right wing whack jobs he was running against in the primaries. Earlier in his political career, as governor of Massachusetts, he was moderate in many respects--he only veered to the right later on because he had to pander to the Teapartiers. The worst thing he ever did as a Mormon was spearhead an effort to build a monstrously ugly Mormon church with a 400 foot high tower in the middle of the suburban Boston town he lived in at the time, which got built over strenuous community objections. But building ugly institutions of higher worship isn't unique to Mormons.

I suspect David Cameron is glad that Obama won. It means he won't have to hide behind the sofa when the mormon knocks on the door of number 10.

I've been following the whole lead up to the elections pretty closely by watching the Daily Show and the Colbert Report while doing the dishes. Although they are liberally biased, I would have been amazed if Mitt Romney would have won. What a terrible campaign, such flip-flopping or sidestepping on issues, and blatant lies... and what a weird system (Superpacs? What's up with those?)

So good that Obama won but still, I'll miss the jokes about the absurdity of it all :)

And don't forget the important issue. Washington and Colorado passed measures to Legalize pot.
