Of all the many noxious things about Romney, being a Mormon never registered as an important issue with anyone on either side of the aisle and there was nothing he would have done as president that would have been any different than any other conservative who had been elected. Indeed, he probably would have been a lot more moderate than some of the other right wing whack jobs he was running against in the primaries. Earlier in his political career, as governor of Massachusetts, he was moderate in many respects--he only veered to the right later on because he had to pander to the Teapartiers. The worst thing he ever did as a Mormon was spearhead an effort to build a monstrously ugly Mormon church with a 400 foot high tower in the middle of the suburban Boston town he lived in at the time, which got built over strenuous community objections. But building ugly institutions of higher worship isn't unique to Mormons.
