School Board says 12 year old was responsible for her own rape and abuse.

Sounds like the school board have hired a 'no win no fee' legal team. That or they don't want to lose their excess waiver on the insurance

Either that, or the defence lawyers are a bunch of victimising...I'd rather not say the word. But seriously, it's a well-used defence. Blaming the victim is too bloody common.

It's pretty desperate damage limitation - the fact that one of the b*stards committed suicide and the other's already been jailed means they're trying to claw back a reduction on the fine and costs of the civil action these students will have against the District administration that should have protected them (or at least done more to support them). There's every chance they'll incur a heavier penalty and censure by prolonging the agony in taking this moronic line of 'defence'. :angry-devil:

Yes Batty, we apparently have elected this fraudlent b.s.td-- but see

Only a Flake and his supporters would be dumb enough to do this. My man pulled a respectable 44%, but that's as of last night.

Now that the election problem has been solved, a quintet of seriously [EFF!]ed up news headlines...

Firstly, female circumcisers in court in Sydney...

...a trio of teenagers steal DVDs, a video camera, and the ashes of an infant...

...porn actors threatening to relocate from LA if they are made to wear condoms during sex scenes (oh, the [EFF!]ing horror...)...

http://bigpondnews.com/articles/World/2012/11/08/Condoms_on_for_LA_porn_stars_814206.html?cid=ZBP_NEWS_L_L1_Dads_Army_star_Clive_Dunn_dies_081112

...Greece passes its austerity laws (I think Senekot was involved somewhere)...

...and in news that will scare people more than George Lucas selling Lucasfilm to Disney...Russell Brand wants to be a Jedi. You may now start screaming.

Somehow, your news source seems to produce more interesting/ disturbing news than any I know. :D

If all porn actors wore condoms, you could sell the videos as educational videos. I see that as a plus. :)

Okay, it's a tragedy, but I really love the ironic nature of this story.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/ ... story.html

The man prays for two years for his wife to recover from cancer, and then attributes her recovery to Jesus. In gratitude, he cleans the crucifix statue, which falls on him and crushes his leg. Apparently, in spite of his faith, there was no miraculous healing power in that statue, since his leg had to be amputated. And, rather assume that his accident, like his wife's recovery, was the 'will of Jesus,' he instead sues the church.

I like that story, raisin.

As for the real life dolls, I first thought they were those lifelike dolls you can use for various activities. Quite the opposite, they're the dolllike lifeforms. Creepy.

Does the possibility of alien contact have to happen live on air? If you seriously believed you'd just point the telescope and see what happened wouldn't you? Ratings come first I suppose.

It's a good story. That ole' red tape, getcha everytime.

Brilliant! Maybe they were worried the aliens would say something inappropriate live on air. Something about Jimmy Savile, maybe.
What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!
