Will is looking at the thread through his new specs. They are varifocal, and Will is not quite sure which bit of glass to look at the screen through. Ah, the lower bit seems to work better, but Will has to bend his neck back to look through that bit, so maybe Will should adjust the screen. The joys of ageing.

Still, the opticians have a good deal on whereby the price of the frames is reduced by the same percentage as the customer's age. That is 56% for Will. Will wonders if he was 101, whether they would pay him 1% of the price.

Will sympathises with Docandie about young people's attitudes. Dad-in-Law of Will, who died last year aged 92, was up to date with computers to the last, no-one having told him that old people were supposed to be confused by them.
