Thanks you two, it's not always easy for me to deal with this game, and as incredible as it may sound, google not always helps!

You always do exceptionally well; finding the word is just the first step--figuring how to work it into the conversation without riding into a dead end is the tricky part.

lucky for me it is a written game, so I can take my time and not worry about pronunciation. if it was a spoken one you would hear dread in my voice

For real? Can't see why (am I right in thinking that to be leary means to be suspicious? couldn't find a translation, only some articles with that words)

Yes, leary means to be suspicious--like what you should be when some old pervert starts to leer at you.

There are two spellings of the word Leary or Leery and has two definitions American and English which differ in their context slightly.

Oh in that case the way to stop them is to peer at them in a very icy, maybe even hostile way. That usually cool everyone down. So Dug, you didn't mean it in the sense 'suspicious' then?

Have you ever tried that--I would think it would just encourage them?

Thanks :P
And yes, when someone starts talking in an inappropriate way, a very icy look can do the trick, just think of Granny ;)

I get icy looks from everyone when I rev the engine of my car--who has the time or money to get a muffler these days?
