Clock change tonight

For the European members here (and maybe others) - a reminder that the clocks change tonight and we go onto winter time (and get an extra hour sleep to get over the shock). To keep things on track, you will need to alter your profile here slightly to keep the clock on-track.To do that, either click here or click your user control panel link (up near the top of the page, and from the board preferences tag, select Edit global settings. Near the bottom are the "Summer Time/DST is in effect:" radio buttons. Change their setting from yes to no, and click submit.

Does anyone else get a bit peeved that the extra hour is a bit of a con, it's on a Sunday if you want an extra hour in bed just turn over and it is not 25 hours so you don't get an extra one .

My sister has to work most Sundays, so she benefits by the change.

Hate it,the human dependant animals don't exactly 'get it' either...
I view it as something that started as a govermental conspiracy by a few of the higher echelons, to give us all some 'stationary jetlag' and bother,just to see if they could do it.
Which then turned into tradition and thereby impervious to scrutiny by things like common sense and such.

Hope we follow the good example of the Russians in abandoning this rather sooner than later! .

I was due to finish work at 2am last night. The manager insisted that because the clocks also went back at 2am, I had to work the extra hour effectively giving me an 11 hour shift instead of the usual 10 (and with no extra pay). On the bright side, I was dealing roulette for the extra hour and lost the company just over £13,000 to a very pleasant Chinese punter; it would have been cheaper for them to have let me go home than try to grab their pound of flesh from me.
