As for the kid's name, is it me being grossly ignorant, or does that sound like a Native American name (at least the surname)?

It does seem to be native American, most likely Lakota tribe as I found 3 definite examples on the web from there from only 27 people with that surname in the US. It looks like it's dying out as a name

There are Christian fundamentalists as well Islamic ones and Hindu ones. There are even, arguably, Atheist fundamentalists. Fundamentalism covers a wide range of belief systems.

It saddens me even more than non-Christians to see my belief being misused. It's so easy to just read the Bible to get the facts, than listen to some of these fools.
