Actually they have a book week at school, which this year is concentrating on fantasy books. On Friday they have to dress up as a character from a book. Daniel has a wizard costume so I suggested Rincewind. He asked about the character so I handed him Colour of Magic - he's up to page 80 already
Hannah then wanted to be someone from a TP book, so I suggested Tiffany Aching and handed her The Wee Free Men - she's up to page 120 already Hannah's going to dress as a witch, the dress has some pink in it, as well as black - not strictly per the book, but the best we could come up with at short notice

When I was much younger (ind this is my defence) I used to work for a landscape company and the lads used to take it in turns to knock on the customers doors and say 'Morning, I'm here to trim your bush'......just to see if it raised a smile.........I must say, most of the blokes that answered the door didn't laugh

I told Tony I would post a link to this story in today's news--which made me feel good about some people. It seems that a woman named Jennie Webb has adopted a tiny baby elephant found in the grass of the river bank in the Vwazi Wildlife Reserve in northern Malawi. Unfortunately they suspect his mother was killed by poachers. As the story says,

The illegal killing of elephants is rife in Africa, with conservation groups saying that tens of thousands of elephants are being killed each year for their ivory tusks.

But that's not what made me feel good. The main part of the story is about her experiences feeding and raising a bottle baby elephant, who has been named Moses. If you want to read the part that made me feel good, here's the link to the full story and a picture of the little guy.

What made me smile was passing my oral exam in organic chemistry. I'm now allowed to take the practical course, which I'll try to avoid since I've already done two in the past when I studied chemistry.
Watching some episodes of The Big Bang Theory also made me smile.
