Or you could adopt a snotty little slimeball (aka 'a boy') and let other mums worry about their daughters. :D

Image It's pointless giving Del good advice! She's naturally rebellious...

As you're awake, perhaps you should warn the ex about the head lice.

He may decide that he doesn't want H staying with him next week!

I do warn him. They have girls with long hair too. Last thing I need is for them to be reinfecting H.

He turned into a screaming girl when the girls had it the first month we moved in together many years ago. I always check her before she goes over Batty.

Thing 1 is going through a rough time right now. It's really getting to me. I'm having a hard time staying in motion this morning.

Come sit under the stairs with me catch-up. I have one hormonal teen ready to rip the flesh from the bones of anyone who looks sideways at her and the other hormonal almost-teen waving a red flag and doing a jig.

I think there is something to this "sit very calmly and rock... rock... rock...hum too... and rock"

Though I swear ... if I DO find a rock!!!!!!...

I like that plan. Somewhere dark to sit, hum and rock sounds perfect. It's not exactly the hormonal thing, but I think that's contributing to what she's going through. Spoke to one of her teachers this morning and cannot imagine why I didn't think to offer to come get her. I called back, left a voice mail and sent an email for them to call me if they think I need to bring her home.

*rocking and humming, rocking and humming*

My husband brought me a rocking chair when I had my first baby.... most people think that giving a rocking chair to a new mother is so she can rock her baby to sleep...

NOPE!

Rocking and humming... rocking and humming....
