Oh and Mitt just got the support of the gun toting brigade huh? Yay!
Obama is usually a more vocal eloquent and effective speaker than Mitt can ever hope to be in a grade school debate on "Why running with scissors is a bad thing"
I think he was having a very bad day. Shame it should be the day it was broadcast to millions.
Is the American public so fickle that one off day determines what has happened for the past four years and what will happen in the next?
...says she who is now under the control of a vile egotistical developer setting himself up for life and ripping the heart out of my wonderful state at the expense of every Queenlander to take breath in the next 50 years.
You're talking about Campbell Newman, right? I didn't know he was a developer.
I have to live under Tom Tate as mayor, who basically ticks all those boxes. AND he's a developer. Goodbye environment of the Spit, hello polluting cruise terminal and glitzy hedonistic casino.
See, the voting public (of any democratic society, really) are apparently a bunch of people who, to put it politely, need help dressing themselves because they'll otherwise put their pants on their head. They don't give a crap who's in charge as long as their lives don't change, and probably vote more on candidate hairstyle than anything else. Politics is less about public service and more about pandering to base desires, it seems. Although if that was the case, then the Australian Sex Party would be in power already...
Voting, for me, is really about choosing the lesser of two evils. But even then, it feels like my vote doesn't matter, and it's compulsory to vote in Australia. Normally, that would be a good thing, except that it means every insane, inbred, intellectually-challenged ingrate gets to vote.
In short, that is why democracy sucks, and why we should have a totalitarian dictatorship. Ruled by yours truly.
I've lived for over 2000 years, and not all of them were good ones. I've made many mistakes. And it's about time I did something about that.
