We're just watching a documentary on "16:9". I don't know if the show is on in the US, or just Canada.
It's about Adam Keyes. He was the loan survivor of his military team from an IED. He was giving a 1% chance to live. He's our neighbour down the street and he's doing really well, despite having lost both legs, his left forearm and undergone 120 surgeries.
It's quite the story of the human spirit. ..and it was a little weird, seeing our street and house on TV; again.

The human spirit is indeed amazing, Con. Your neighbour clearly has phenomenal determination and sounds like one of those people who will make something of whatever they are given to work with in life. I am in awe.

a friend of mine got shot a couple of years ago in afghanistan, the first thing that he said to me was that he should have taken the ducking course instead of the first aid course and out there if somebody says duck you DONOT say wot duck

My niece, who became a Mum last week, is out of hospital today. She got a bit of an infection after being sent home and was sent back in for a few days. I've been staying away from them both whilst poorly so I don't pass anything on but I'm desperate for a cuddle now
