The Third Person Thread - Part the first

Aunty races by and gratefully grabs some comforting chocolate. Then she grabs some more and some...

Ok. Aunty restrains herself for a moment to wave happily at everyone and to briefly whinge that between work and study not much else seems to be happening in her life of late. She did want to take on something new and challenge herself didn't she? She thinks she did. She also thinks she is starting to sound vaguely like Gollum.

Anyway, Aunty misses catching up with everyone and hopes she can gradually reclaim some time to stay in touch

Will can resist chocolate up to a point. OK, the point has been reached. Will grabs some chocolate.

Will thanks Toothy for rescuing the Thread from the Void and dusting it.

Will and Mrs Will are off on Sunday for their last bit of holiday this year, to Venice for 3 days. Will hopes he can post some piccies as and when available.

In the mean time Will hangs up a notice saying:

Bonnie breezes through with a Thank You to (((Toofs))) and grabs a chokkit. Bonnie has just been busy with her usual routine. Nothing exciting has happened in the last few weeks except for a prezzie from Vicky & Cendrine. Bonnie is now the proud owner of a Death of Rats mousepad that she has been coveting for a couple of years now. Of course Munchie was verra jealous so Bonnie decided to send her a Feegle mousepad and Amazon giftcard for her birthday which is next Tuesday.

Bonnie has to check with a couple of friends to see if they are interested in getting a yardsale together for tomorrow morning. Of course that means she will have to get up early. *sigh*

Bonnie hopes Will and Mrs. Will have fun on their vacation and will look forward to seeing the piccies. She waves at Aunty & Sojerd and leaves hugs for all before running off to do weekend chores.

Mac sneaks in to grab some chocolate hmm , mac has just started her masters course and is very tired after a long week and is sorry she has not been around she is not sure how much she will be

Mac has now moved to Birmingham it is a weird new scary place , but she is getting used to it now however she is not enjoying being a grown up dealing with bills and stuff real life is hard

Mac wanders off for sleep and will try and get back more often she hopes

Aunty really hopes that Will can post some pictures of Venice, so she can have a vicarious visit. She hopes Will and Mrs Will have a lovely trip

While Aunty is having a little bit of a jealous moment over Bonnie's Death of Rats mousepad, she is at the idea that Bonnie was thinking of oganising a yardsale for the very next day. Aunty always thought that such a thing would take days of preparation!

Aunty wishes Mac lots of luck with her Masters! All Aunty knows about Birmingham is from the kid's show 'Brum' that was on when Vaguette was a toddler, so she has to admit that she probably doesn't have an accurate picture in her mind's eye. What she imagines is lots of people miming at each other and being chased by a little gold car, so she thinks that is possibly not day to day reality in Brum. But who knows, maybe that's why Mac finds the place scary!

Chillicamper is tired. He has had a week from hell at work and would like it if the children would allow him to get some sleep at night. Nevermind, exhaustion is a good excuse for chillicamper to grab some choccy as a sugar rush is needed.

Chillicamper is now brewing up some triple strength coffee and wondering if he should just start snorting ground coffee directly

Chillicamper hopes that everyone who is on hols posts up some lovely piccies shortly.

Chillicamper remembers visiting Birmingham regularly in the early 1990s when his sister was at Uni there. Unfortunately he can't actualy remember much about Birmingham, as his strongest memory is of a guy who used to walk down the road past his sisters student house barking orders such as 'Attention' and 'Quick March'. Chillicamper remembers that everyone knew him and many saluted him! He was known in the area as Captain Shrapnell.

Toothy is pleased to see so much activity on the thread. Yay!

Toothy loved her years at Birmingham University (Edgbaston not Aston) and she's sure Mac will grow to love it, too.

Aunty! It's so good to see our antipodean boardie back after such a long absence. Toothy hopes that Aunty will indeed be able to post again more often soon.

Whoa! The chokkit supplies are looking pretty depleted. Toothy leaves a crate of top up supplies, including chokkit-coated coffee beans, together with sundry pizzas and popcorn. Hmmm something's missing... Oh, yes, have some bottles of wine, beer and cola.

Bonnie is glad to see Mac again and is sure she will settle into a comfortable routine soon - bills and all. Yes, being a Grown-up can be very scary but has its upside too.

Bonnie managed to make $50 USD today and get rid of some "stuff" that was taking up valuable space in her little shoebox of an apartment. She will have to take some of the leftover items to Goodwill as she is determined not to let them back into storage.

Erm, Bonnie eyes Toofs suspiciously and tries to distract her with a bottle of Cabernet before shuffling the mousepad out of sight.

Bonnie says her sister has threatened to invent the Caffine IV Drip. Bonnie also wonders how Chilli earned his nickname?

Now Bonnie needs to spend some time building up her legs for a 5K race/walk coming up at the end of October. She will likely try to post some pics as everyone is supposed to be in costume. Currently Bonnie is not sure whether she will be dressed as a toothbrush or tube of toothpaste. Their team will also have a molar and the Toothfairy. The event will also be hosting a High Heels Dash but Bonnie is defo not doing that as she prefers not to break an ankle and miss the afterparty.

Bonnie waves Goodnight to All and toddles off to find her jammies.

Chillicamper likes the idea of a caffeine drip

Chillicamper wishes Bonnie luck with building up for the 5K race and definitely wants to see some pictures.....one from the start and one from the end of the race so that Chillicamper can spot the difference

Chillicamper can explain his nickname quite easily. He likes mexican food and chillis and he also likes VW campers and camping. Chillicamper is not very inventive when it comes to names

Chillicamper is in fact a VW camper bore. Chillicamper can talk for hours on the subject until people surrounding him start bleeding from the ears. Chillicamper is now desperately trying to resist telling Bonnie about his 1975 VW camper, which by sheer coincidence was made and originally used in Mexico before finding its way to the UK. Chillicamper can describe all the work that he has done to it over the last 3 years.

Chillicamper is wondering why Bonnie is running away screaming..........come back......Chillicamper has not told you about finding half the cooling tinware missing from the engine.........Bonnie..........Bonnie.........

Jules giggles ... then she winces because giggling makes her headache from hell worse. She has decided to spend the day snuggled up with lots of caffeine. Maybe she'll turn back into a human later in the day. IF that happens she'll have to do some school homework. Meh!

Tony tells Chilli that Sharlene had one of the first VW Beetles in America. She bought the car new when she was in Britain in the 60s and had it shipped over to the States. This was before Disney's The Love Bug in 1968.

Aunty is delighted to see that the thread has really sprung to life again - Toothy has truly magical dusting powers!

Aunty tells Chillicamper that she does not know that much about VWs, but that doesn't stop her wanting to posses an old split-screen Kombi. She saw two that were beautifully done up in two-toned paintwork and in service for a wedding in Tasmania. She should know better than to want one...she spent time living in a share house when she was at Uni and everyone seemed to have Kombis. In pieces on the front lawn generally.

Aunty is also jealous of Sharlene's VW Bettle and wonders if she still has it? Aunty's grandma had a mustard yellow one years ago. She somehow managed to get it hooked on the back of a tram in Melbourne one day. Aunty thinks that would have been quite a sight

After telling Bonnie to take good care of those ankles and hoping the marking fairy visits Jules, Aunty is off for one last dash about the board before going to bed!

Tony always feels like posting in the third person on other threads when he has been to this one.

Once Tony has done this long enough he will probably start talking to himself in third person whenever something interesting happens in his life. Jules's inner monologue has been doing this for years now...

Jules's head is better after a day in the garden. The Juleses got rid of lots of nasty ivy and stuff, cleaned out the nest boxes, prepared the hedgie house for the winter but also did a lot of quality lazing in the sun over the weekend.
she thinks she has earned some choccits now, so grabs a handful and runs off.

Tony used to know a guy on the old (pre Anna) Harper Collins board who always posted in the third person on every thread. He even talked in the third person in MSN conversations - which Tony found very odd.
