I still don't get why I can't do anything with Ad-aware though?? I'll put Norton back in after the current malwarebytes scan is done...

Ad Aware stuffed up for me once. I just uninstalled it and reinstalled it. It works now, after a fashion, but I'm afraid to use the full scan (as opposed to the smart scan), as the fan on the computer revs up to alarmingly loud levels when it does so, and this computer's a pretty good one.

Ok, I'll check for updates. I have been putting it off, so it may be true. I'm actually not too crazy about these later version of it.

You should probably also update java or remove it. There was until recently a very big security hole in it that might be the cause of your mess.

I'd be careful with Ad-aware. I stopped using it a while ago when it tried to install itself as the default anti-virus program.
If malwarebytes found a problem I suggest booting into safe mode and run malwarebytes again.

I've never had any problem with ad aware except they keep bugging me to install the new version, only problem is I have a good Av program and it would conflict with their one and I don't want to change it.

I installed Ad-Aware with some trouble, then because of Bouncy's help it is fixed now. I installed Norton again thinking it would remove Ad-Aware but they are both running now, along with Malwarebyte.

Trueish... probably not the ones you're using, though.
Anyway, that's why I put "update" first. I have Java, too, although I don't like it, just because I know some programmes need it.
