I was in Tesco this morning and was amused at all the 50 Shades rip-offs that have been spawned.

I've seen the pre order lists for books and there really is a lot of rip offs. Same thing happened when Da Vinci code was the flavour of the month. The amount of books based on religious conspiracy theories published within a year must have all the previous books combined.

We were talking books at work a few weeks ago and one woman said she wanted something light to read for a trip away. I recommended the Stephanie Plum books. I forgot about the conversation. Well, she found me the other day in the tea room and said that she got one of books to read and proceded to tell me how bad it was. I reminded her that she wanted a light read. She said she liked a little more 'substance' in her books, something that stimulates the mind. And in her hand? 50 Shades of Grey. . I said good luck with the new book then. . Ah man, funny stuff.

I haven't read 50 shades & probably won't.
