Neil Armstrong

An unassuming individual who, with his fellow astronauts waded across the Rubicon. A modest man who did not capitlise on his endeavours choosing instead to teach back in Ohio.

One true legend, who will not be forgotten. His footprints will last for all eternity, on the moon and in our hearts.

Godspeed you to your new endeavour. The Eagle has landed...

My mum used to tell me about the night Armstrong walked on the moon. I was just over 2 and a half months old, and we lived in Dublin. She said she remembered her and my Dad, getting us ready for bed, and her walking me to get me to sleep, when she heard the famous ‘That’s one small step…’ speech.
Many years ago, Buzz Aldrin visited our school. I didn’t actually meet him personally, but he addressed our year, and all I could think of was – ‘you’ve walked on the moon!’ I don’t remember a single word of what he said, ‘cos that thought was going through my head.

Sad news indeed.
Altough my family insists i couldn't remember the first moonlanding,being just two years old at the time,i still think i do.
Great respect for the man himself as well,as already stated,he was an example for us all.
I do hope we will come around to his(and mine)hope for much more investment in space-exploration rather sooner than later.
