I'm surprised nobody posted this yet:

She was quite a lady.

Tony Scott took his own life today.

I think I heard on the news that he was afflicted with brain cancer?

I step away from the online world for a few days to get some real-world issues taken care of, and come back to no Tony Scott or Phyllis Diller. :( RIP, the both of them.

I'd never heard of her. Sorry. Did she make it over to UK television? RIP

She had one or two series on air here, also did films - some with Bob Hope who gave her her first breaks, and did voice overs for cartoon films. RIP Phyllis.

You might know the voice - she played Peter Griffin's mum in Family Guy.

RIP Phyllis...there's no business like show business indeed. RIP Scott McKenzie...ah, 1967, the summer of love. RIP Tony Scott who has been fondly remembered by those who knew him as one of that rare breed of kind and caring film directors. No news here as to why he chose to end his life. So very sad. (The brain cancer thing has not been proven yet.)

Coincidentally, I was watching a DVD of Jack Nicholson in "About Schmidt" and Phyllis Diller was on a TV show he was watching.

The family have denied that rumour of brain cancer.

It's all a bit puzzling.
