I think the two words are interchangable. Generally we use the word flat here, although up market flats tend to get advertised as apartments. :)

Sharlene has a Mercury Sable station wagon - but I think of it as an estate. ;)

The boot (trunk) has the roof going right over the top of it, rather than flattening out with a lid on ;)

Then what is a "council tenancy"? I always thought they were the equivalent of housing projects--government subsidized housing, usually not very nice.

don't know if you'd find much riff raff there. at least, not the sort usually thought of in those terms :lol:

but i guess its thought buying was better then renting. saves money in the long term (except you still pay taxes like it was a house from what i understand :?
