I'm currently training a future international spy/stunt woman/movie star/U.S. President and a future Equestrian Olympian/marine biologist/herpetologist/Jeff Corwin wannabe. They're only 8 and 11 right now, so I have a lot of work ahead of me. It's good to have job security.

B.C. (before children) I was the office manager at a Belgian company that developed rapid prototyping software for both medical and technical applications.

Right now I do a lot of volunteering, at the schools, on Chamber and community events, etc. But, what I want to be when I grow up is a ninja.

I work the front desk in a dental office. I've honed my multitasking skills to the point that I sometimes resemble a schizophrenic squid. I've also become quite fluent in Dentalese (what a patient is saying around the doctor's fingers in his/her mouth), Insurancese (what the Fine Print in a patient's policy really means), and Sarcasm (the politically correct verbiage my coworker and I use).

I'm a grunt for an Evil Multi-National Corporation Bent On World Domination. IE I work at Wal-mart. Basically inventory specialist (that's the title ) working the backroom.

Ah, Walmart. Y'all and the shoplifters; it kills me. Is your store as insanely aggressive on shoplifting as the ones here are?

We had a Wal-Mart worker get killed chasing a shoplifter. They don't chase them now. Then again, every 1st day of the month and on successive Wednesdays we have more strong arm robberies per capita than most of the country. We inherited Chicago and Detroit's gangs as they try to "clean up" their communities. We have not had One day without at least ONE shooting, usually more in Rockford. I am so happy to live in the country, they are scared of the Nuclear Plant next door.

Doh, as far as work, I studied music and am singing twice a month for severely autistic kids, Brad (hubby) and I are "The Village Idiots" an acoustic/Electric mix, and chair sitter out here in the boonies. I used to fix and program GMFanuc robots and worked with GE LM90 software and Allen Bradley's latest versions of software to make everything not go boom or try to mate through a car body. Welding robots and systems, woot what fun!

My ideal job would be an 'Official Tree Hugger' but I've yet to see that post advertised anywhere. I will keep looking just in case.

I think you all have interesting jobs. Me, I'm retired, but I did several jobs before, the last as a cleaner/cha lady.
I've worked in shops, Singer Sewing Machine, a riding stable, then back to shop work. Currently my Daughter & I sell at fairs & flea markets, but it's just a hobby.

Thats funny, part of the reason they made us stop was because it was shoplifter that got killed at one store (can't remember where it happened). they caught the guy outside and held him down till the police came. but it was a very hot day, the pavement was black and the cops took awhile to get there. not a good combo.

There have been robberies at gun point at wally worlds down here, but not near me, or at my store. we just get alot of people grabbing something and running out an emergency exit to a waiting car (this happened yet again a few days ago).

I've been a housewife and mum for many years, but I did have some interesting jobs way back when -

I ran a small video store, before they all became Xtravision or Blockbuster or whatever.
I managed a snooker club
I was the sole librarian in my town's ickle library for a while - we have a bigger one now with "staff"!
I worked in a printing house - in the days of old Heidelbergs and offset printers - I even remember one of these
