A little kitten

I foster cats, specifically kittens and their mothers (when the mother is with them). There is this little kitten who is 13 days old today. She is white with black spots, and the black spots on her back form a circle (like a stone circle). She's a very stubborn little girl, who wont have things any way other than her way. I have named her Esmerelda Weatherwax, which is the only name that seems to fit her. I just wanted to tell Sir Pratchett about her and posting on this forum seemed like the best way to do it

She has her mommy and two siblings, and considering how fluffy she is it seems she's going to be a long haired kitty. I hope whoever adopts her can handle her! I've never had a kitten this young with such a strong personality before.

We have no idea if Sir Terry visits this site, but I'm sure he would be very gratified to hear about your Esmeralda Weatherwax as Terry is a great cat lover.

Do you think Esme will lose her black spots? I know a lot of white kittens are born with black spots which they lose later. And a huge number of white cats are born deaf. I used to be owned by a deaf white cat and she was very special and demended to be treated like royalty.

Oh, is Terry Pratchett a cat lover? I assumed as much from Death's disapproving "I suppose you like great big dogs" in...er...Wyrd Sisters, I think. And also Death's general love for kitties. And he did that cat book, of course. Duhhh...

I never twigged before now. I am a stoopid.

Well then, I will announce it here! I'm getting a new kitty! He's black and he's called Bertie and we're not allowed to take him home until the 28th of September, though we're sorely tempted to kidnap him. He'd just fit in a pocket.

Our last kitty was a wedding present from my brother, also a Maine Coon, and the most beautiful and affectionate cat in the world, and sadly had to be put to sleep at 21 months old (!) because he had a very aggressive cancer in his mouth and throat I think that was the hardest thing I've ever done - the vets *make you say it*, which is quite understandable but still pretty rough.

Anyway, who wants pictures of Bertie?
