I have a Kobo, and the Kindle app on my iPad.

It is awz / mobi format for Kindles, but if you put it through Calibre you con convert to epub or other formats to read on your ereader.

Another good source of free ebooks is manybooks.net, particularly for more recent stuff.
You need to check your local copyright rules, though: much of the stuff on there is public domain under US law (x years since publication, copyright not renewed), but will still be under copyright under life +70 and life + 50 regimes.

If you are under one of those, I'd suggest googling the author to check.

They also have a good deal of Creative Commons work - free to read and share, as long as you're not trying to make money out of someone else's work.

For anyone with a kindle or an other make of e-reader, instead of paying mega bucks for a light if you want to read in the dark, I found this in poundland for a £ and it works just great.

No Dotsie it's only the 99 pence one that does that this is the luxury version cause it costs A POUND.
