The opening ceremony was awesome. I recorded it on DVR and am going to make a DVD of it.

A while back I watched a countrywoman of Doddie's win the Gold in fencing. Quite impressive.

Will is enjoying the feeling of being from from a country that wins stuff. (Will is old enough to remember when the Olympics were a painful time for Brits).

Will is also pleased that Luxembourg got a swimmer into the semi-final of the men's breast-stroke.

Docandie watched the Double Sculls and was greatly impressed by the win by Grainger and Watkins.
That last 100 meters was thrilling.

Congratulations. GB is now ranked third overall on the Olympic site with 22 medals. I don't know why some sites have Korea in third place because it doesn't make sense.

Many sites (including the BBC) list in order of the number of golds, then silvers and bronzes, not the total number of medals. At the time of writing (Saturday morning UK time) South Korea have 9 golds to our 8, so they are ahead of us.

On the other hand, going by the total medal haul, we would still be 4th, behind Russia.

Of course, there are still plenty of events to come. We may go up or down (though I don't think we can catch up the USA somehow ). The main thing is that we are still near the top of the board (and ahead of France ).

United Kingdom has surged well ahead of Korea (and France!) in Gold, Silver, Bronze and Docandie figures there is a lot of cheering going on over there.

Docandie watched Andy Murray win the gold in tennis.

Docandie congratulates GB on an amazingly dramatic and impressive Olympics. The home country athletes have really done Great Britain proud.
Considering the difference in population size the feat is even more amazing and the team winning more gold medals (than Russia) and more medals overall than any GB olympic team in history is a great achievement.
