Help us choose the theme music for Strangely Fascinating...

Postby Jan Van Quirm » Fri Jul 27, 2012 11:05 pm

... which was formerly called Discworld QI until Howard Goodall wanted paying for using an adaption of his theme tune for the convention

OK - Simon's helping us out if you hadn't already guessed and although Twoflower's Theme was the original one we wanted to use we also like Unseen University and the gorgeous Dragon Riders as well. So we need help deciding which one to use. Here's a reminder of all 3 contenders

Twoflower's Theme

Unseen University

Dragon Riders of Wyrmberg

And as it's you lot here's a sneak preview of what our screen intro looks and currently sounds like (but no clues on who are going to be the guest panellists  )

Even though I love the Dragon Riders, I think the UU one is the most suitable, because it not too long and... I don't know, it's cheerful and everything. :)

Did you vote yet mC? ;) ;) Doesn't look like UU's got any so far :shifty:

I'm really finding it hard to make my mind up now though so I haven't voted either...

I voted for Twoflower's Theme for its whimsical flavour which seemed more in keeping with the nature of QI.........er sorry,.....Strangely Fascinating. :D

Finally opted for Twoflower as it's the most playful sounding (the Luggage toddling about :P ) :D

The start of the Dragon riders is really more dramatic, where Twoflower is more lulling and would put the quiz team at their ease.

That is what I was thinking, the ending of the Wyrmberg is not quite as dramatic as the beginning, the start is more like here be Dragons enter at your Oyster ;) or should that be peril.

But Wyrmberg is something like 3 minutes! It's too long for an opening tune...
