please, advice 'second-hand' books shop in London

Hi, all.
My daughter is going to UK soon (for learning English; student visa). She asked me 'Mum, what kind of souvenir you want from London?'
And I would to oder ... some TP books in English!
Because English books are too expensive in Russian internet-shops.
And delivery is very expensive from Amazon. And I very want to get some TP's books...

Could you please give me advice (for my daughter) about good 'second-hand' books shop in London?
It must be easy for found and not expensive. And it must to sell TP books, of course!

The two i've been in which were great are as follows -

Also pretty much every shop around Charing Cross road which seems to be a street that specialises in books shops

Oh yes, and Camden Market is a great place to look around anyway.

But if she is going to be in London for a while, she could order second hand books from Amazon and those online places as she won't have much to pay in postage.

Charity shops are great places to pick up book bargains, but you never know what they'll have and sometimes it's rare to find Pratchetts. people seem to keep them for some reason.

just look out for them on any street and look for the book section inside.

As for charity shops. Honestly I don't know what is this! There are no such shops in Russia. But If it's rare to find Pratchetts I think I won't recommend it for she.

A charity shop is a place where people donate their old clothes, books, DVDs etc. They are sold in the shop and money made is given to good causes. There are about 20 of them near to where I live and it's great fun seeing what they have. A great way to find bargains.

Charity shops are the best fun! Bound to be some in Bournmouth, tell her to look out for them. Dugs list is a good one, also Air Ambulance and the local hospice.

A bit of a mystery that seems to work on the principile that a rummage in what could be a stage set for a second-hand bookshop and the chance of somewhere to keep warm and dry will sell a book or two - and it seems to work - especially now there is a more traditional bookroom at the back run by another dealer. - Arthur Hook 14.12.10.

Scope is another very active charity (formerly the spastics' society and glad they changed their name) where I've found Discworld books in the past.
Actually any charity which takes on a high street shop is going to be bona fide and anything you spend in their shop is going to help someone. Sometimes it's possible to find a Pratchett seam! A local hospice shop had most of the early paperbacks a few weeks back and I bought Pyramids which I'd already read but didn't own. Actually I wish I'd bought the lot at the time....some of my copies are a bit tatty.

Oxfam bookshops, I found, were a godsend when it came to shopping for secondhand books during my holiday in the UK. While we were heading to the British Museum, I happened to see a book I had been looking for for ages (the scriptbook for The Quatermass Experiment, to be precise). I waited until the shop opened and purchased it. Earlier this year, I found a later, more robust edition of the same scriptbook for a cheaper price ($2.50 AU, compared to the six pounds or approximately $15 AU I spent at the time on the scriptbook), but hey, I also got a number of other books that I wanted from Oxfam shops, including a replacement for my tattered copy of Who On Earth Is Tom Baker?, the Doctor Who Missing Adventure novel The Well-Mannered War, and a copy of the Men At Arms play.
