UK's WIGGINS WINS TOUR DE FRANCE

Postby Del » Mon Jul 23, 2012 4:49 pm

Why has there been no posting about this?

Get up off your seats people! Bradley Wiggins is the first ever British man to win the Tour De France !

If every paper you open and every website you click upon today seems to be showing a blur of yellow and images of a slim be-sideburned man grinning in sunglasses, there is good reason for this uniformity of coverage. The victory of Bradley Wiggins in the 2012 Tour de France is a feat of true greatness – the first triumph by a British rider in what must be considered the world's toughest sporting event, all three weeks and 2000 miles of it. You may already be annoyed at the hail tickertape – but, for once, the hype is justified.

According to QI - that has more to do fashion and allowing band aids to stick than streamlining.

Mr Dotsie is made up, he loves watching the TdF & pointed out Bradley Wiggins to me years ago (he was too shy to go & say hello though).

He was born in Belgium and his father is Australian. (To be honest, his parents separated when he was two and he lived in England from then on, with his maternal grandparents.)

WELL DONE BRADLEY!

Well done Bradley.

Bradley is phenomenal!

Tis a shame about Mark Cavendish, though. He won the Champs Elysee leg of the race, for the fourth time, and has hardly been mentioned!

Mark Cavendish is hotly tipped for some Olympic event involving ....er.....cycling.
Our rural area seems to be very popular with the SERIOUS cyclists who arrive in large numbers, look ridiculous in lycra and those back-to-front pointy helmets (on their own? on a public road?) Pay nothing towards the upkeep of the roads unlike the motorists they obstruct, do not obey speed restrictions but pedal like loons in built-up areas (I've clocked them, they're MAD)They ride at 40 mph and 2 abreast on a 60 mph road where overtaking opportunities are fleeting and accumulate convoys of vehicles behind them. I'm not impressed....but you got that already :shifty: didn't you?
But of course
GO WIGGO!
