Once it's over with Dug, Stratford can enjoy the improvements.
Stratford was a dump beforehand.
Going to my school was an education in itself. Which is not to be confused with actually getting an education (Schultz)

Totally agree. Brisbane was a backwater til we got the Commonwealth Games and Expo took it to a whole new level. And most of the sites they used were industrial dumps that were a blight on the city in the first place.

Batty it will stil be one afterwards 5 or 10 minutes away from the new Westfields centre it's still a dump, I'm glad I did'nt take the transfer offer to work there, the office overlooked the site I would have arrived there and it would have been time to go back home I might have turned into an alki with stress.

We're going to put the Olympic Stadium and the Games into a bag, and take it home- what do you think it means? :|

To 'bag' something is to badmouth it. I thought that was British slang as well as Aussie slang. Oh well.

I found London bad enough in winter with nothing special going on (especially the Tube), so I reckon that if I was over there during the Olympics, it would be utterly unbearable.

Del, have you been watching Psychic Expo ads? I detest the word fantabulous, partly because it isn't a word. And if it was, then I would purge it with fire.

But seriously, what is the point of the Olympics? It's basically a revival of a Greek ceremonial games where men would compete naked (and no ladies were allowed to watch or, with some exceptions, compete, because Ancient Greece was a misogynistic group of city states, with the exception of Sparta, which was just a military dictatorship). Can you imagine running at full pelt in the nude? I can't. I could see some very painful injuries in a nude athlete's future.
I've lived for over 2000 years, and not all of them were good ones. I've made many mistakes. And it's about time I did something about that.

No, I've never heard that phrase before. Oh well, if we aren't allowed to bad mouth it, I'd better stay away from this thread then.

No, that's just Del trying to drum up support. London residents affected by it have a right to bag it. And then put it in the bin. :P

On a lighter note, are they getting David Tennant to do the final leg of the Olympic Torch run, like in the Doctor Who story Fear Her?

Where's the Benny Hill Cyclotron, where, old geezers will chase after half-naked girls, paying tribute to Britain's most recognized cultural export? :D

Olympic torch bearer Jerri Peterson had a tattoo done to mark her role in the 2012 relay, only to find the tattoo artist had misspelled 'Olympic'.

Just back from the grand-daughters school play version of sport and the olympics featuring kids singing about about starkers on the starting line and nuddy on the playing field.
