I can only think of Greebo, You and Maurice. Any other named cats?

Tiffany has a cat - or at least, there's a cat that lives on Tiffany's farm. His name is Ratbag if I remember correctly. :)

I can't remember any other named cats at the moment, but Death seems to have a load of them living with him at one time or another. :D

Good to see you again, Jina.

Thanks. My friend who breeds Devon rexes has Discworld-themes for all her litters. Today I suggested "Cats of the Discworld", but could only think of those three. That's why one of my first cats was called Miss Treason (name chosen by me), and my fourth is Liessa Dragonlady.

I prefer my way: name them after whatever interests me at the moment :) But I love naming her kittens: I'm very much responsible for a boy named Daft Wullie ;)

Rincewind would be an ideal name for a cat. Any sign of work or danger and ... :snooty: ... they're off! Exit stage right ... pursued by a bear!

In Equal Rites there is a white cat (unnamed) which is part of an indeterminate family of cats living at the Forge where Eskarina Smith is born and grows up. (Just getting round to a reread after I shall wear midnight).

In Mort: A Discworld Big Comic, Death picks up a kitten (one amongst many) when he's working at Harga's House of Ribs, and hands it to Albert after the Rite of Ashk-Ente scene. He calls it 'Scamp'.

There's the otherwise un-named cat in "Moving Pictures", who is essentially a feline Gaspode developing unwelcome sentience and colour vision; he manifests distinct characteristics of Tom (as in "and Jerry") and Sylvester from the cartoons. although not named ( a little romantic bit of me wonders if this is Maurice's first appearance in the books. No proof of this either.)

Although un-named, this cat has enough character to justify a mention here...
Used to be too clever by half, but by virtue of consistent drinking, now only too clever by about a quarter. Banned from all BBC messageboards for being too much of an "uncceptable editorial risk".

The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents is first mentioned (I think) in Reaper Man. But that mention seems to refer to a person rather than a cat. I suspect Terry created the character as a one-line joke and then started to think of it.

There's also the clever rats in Guards! Guards! who Vetiniari uses as servants/spies. Again I think this is an idea Terry developed into Maurice and co. :)
