You HAVE to see him as Teatime in Terry Pratchett’s Hogfather. He makes my skin crawl.

He was perfectly cast as Teatime. However, I don't even remember him in Band of Brothers. He must have played a 'good guy' in that one.

He was in episode 3, playing Albert Blithe, who was playing a shell shock victim.

It was an excellent series, I thought, although I came to it a bit late having been put off by the Hanks/Spielberg association.

Is it my imagination, or do HBO employ a lot of British actors in their productions? (Game of Thrones being another example.)

TONS. Seems that nearly every HBO series set in the U.S. over the past few years has had Brits, Irish,or Commonwealthers in main roles playing Americans. That includes, for starters:

The Wire: Dominic West (McNulty), Idris Elba (Stringer Bell), AIden Gillen (the Mayor)
True Blood: Anna Paquin (Sookie), Stephen Moyer (Bill), Ryan Kwanten (Jason)

Ironically, the best "British" actor on an HBO series--Peter Dinklage--is actually American!

Anna and Ryan are from Daahn Under somewhere. Can't remember if it's Oz/NZ.

I can't see Ryan without thinking of Vinnie.

I absolutely, totally DESPISED her in The Piano. Wanted to throttle the little brat's throat. Seeing her all grown up (and nekkid) in True Blood has reduced by antipathy considerably.

What i mainly remembered her in from her younger days was Fly Away Home. That flick with Jeff Daniels and the geese.
