Euros 2012 Predictions & Scoring

I do rather like our opening five fixtures and would hope to have at least 8 points from a possible 15 (two wins, two draws) from them; Aston Villa (H), Swansea (A), Fulham (H), Norwich (A), Sunderland (H).

My other 'predictions' are Brendan Rodgers will be sacked by/during January due to poor results and not being a big enough 'name' to manage Liverpool (according to the supporters).

Harry Redknapp will go on to manage Glasgow Rangers and help them sort out their tax problems.

Well I checked out the runners and riders, and there wasn't a horse called the Joker. The only one which had any significance was called Eastern Dragon. It finished 3rd in the 4:45 at 16-1.

...just as I thought... then I don't get it. After first time, Italy was 1-0 and Spain was 0-0, and on tv they all said at that moment Italy was first... why? Both Spain and Croatia had 1 win and two ties just like Italy... only Italy had scored less. What did I miss??

Ah! Your question wasn't so stupid afterall.

For some crazy reason, they've decided to ignore goal difference this competition and instead decide who goes through based on horoscopes, what the ref had for breakfast and how many letters in your team name.

Russia should have gone through but didn't, because nobody likes Putin and everyone feels sorry for the Greeks.

So if the commentator said Italy were winning, they probably were because in head to heads with the other two teams, Italy had scored twice and at 0-0, the other teams had only scored once.

It's completely barking!

I believe that UEFA have changed the rules, so that if teams are level on points, the highest ranking team will go through.

In other words, the favourites are given a leg-up!

AH, that's how it is, I also talked to my father who was passing by today, and now we both understand. Doesn't make a lot of sense this new rule, but now I understand. Thanks ^_^
