Smiling at all the smiles here and the fact that this is the nicest and smiliest thread ever!
Trying to cram 2 days' work into one today having seen the weather forecast for tomorrow. Anyone who has done a day's gardening will appreciate that it's never easy so imagine being sixty-something and doing it every day and you'll see why I get a bit miffed at those I call the professional whingers.....those who approach whilst I'm mowing a communal area of grass causing me to cease the operation out of politeness because I see that they wish to talk to me. There were a couple today, one to say hello (a smile and a wave is OK with me) and one to ask if I had my weedkiller spray with me because she had spotted a HUGE WEED..........
partially obscured by the front of a parked car
I promised her the wrath of Offler would descend exclusively on that weed just to get her to go away. Imagine my delight when another resident approached soon afterwards and there has been a bit of history between us.....wouldn't have wanted to be on the receiving end of my facial expression at that moment, oh dear no and I'm the one who has to look in the mirror.
However, to my surprise, it was not another request to remove yet another pathetic weed but an offer of cash to do a little bit of gardening off the radar, so to speak
Finished work much later than usual but it meant a wee bonus in my pocket a chance to indulge in a rare takeaway supper tonight
