A fair innings.

I'd never heard of the book/movie until I was Twitter conversing with Simon Bates last week.

Bizarre plotline, to say the least.

The rest of us are a bit crap.

Well worth a read, or getting the Truffaut film. Both are classics of sci-fi.

'Fahrenheit 451' is one of those books that is frequently on banned lists. It's not so bizarre, considering it's a book about banning books. There's even a system in there that seems a lot like a cross between daytime TV and the Internet. :?

The control by the multi screen tv room setup is quite disturbingly close to both. Scarily well visualised in the book

Ray Bradbury was one of the true "Greats" of the beginning of science-fiction & fantasy--along with Asimov, Heinlein, and others of that generation. He has received, over the course of his long career, most of the nation's prizes for literature. For a listing (and timeline) of his accomplishments in short stories, novels, and screenplays see today's news story here. He had a long and productive life.

Hail and Farewell, Ray Bradbury
