I stand corrected!
While walking the dog this morning, I noticed that there are still a fair number of lilacs aboot!

Maybe I'll procure some from the neighbours...?

I may have procured a small amount from the church yard I walk past in the mornings.... It sat nicely in my top button hole 'till it died :( (it's on my desk now!)

Happy 25th May to you all :)

Enjoyed my boiled egg and contemplated some lilac blossom from a distance (with due reverence). Feels slightly inadequate but hope it will do
